François Bausch a ‘lame duck’ ?!

The ‘verdict’ of Prosecutor General that Transport Minister François Bausch did not intervene in the judiciary should be noted and respected. Which does not mean that further questions will not be allowed! And these were themed by Tageblatt and Radio 100.7 and also by reporter.lu; for the big media – word and RTL – the subject has long since died, which also raises questions! The secretary has contributed to his controversy among experts because of his reports: Paul Hammelmann, lawyer and president of the security routines, has gone after the minister – so no interference! – while Luc Heuschling, also lawyer and expert in constitutional affairs, from talking a clear violation. Just like this: did Mrs. Martine Solovieff have another choice at all? If she had talked about political immunity, she would have brought herself to Bredouille, since she would have had to admit that she had done nothing against it! In other words: the minister was “rescued” only because the attorney general took himself out of the firing line. But besides the experts, there are also politicians.

” 90 minutes after the letter was published on gkonline, the CSV responded”

The issue of Christian Social Affairs parliament was extremely fast, a few days later there was a press conference where party president Frank Engel indirectly brought the minister’s resignation to the discussion. In this context, I become a judge of the reporter.lu of Christophe Bumb, when he writes that the opposition party has already spoken of resignation, as not all the facts have been table! Already on the playwrights the drama would have been better for weeks. But, after the Easter holidays, one hears as if the Conservatives would like to come back to the game, where they stay away, playing first on the ball or the man, so rather polemically or casually discussed. Well, about the fund there was not so much speech, at least not in the political circles.

T

he government and the minister have put in place the strategy to “postpone” the affair, so do nothing and wait for the courts to calm down. Eventually, the trigger was the small “gkonline” site, and as long as the big media laid their fingers on it, nothing burned. The bill came up: the decision of the Prosecutor General, the QP of the CSV was answered, you came two weeks’ Easter holiday and now there is state sadness, where the parties are bound not to dispute each other; after the 4th of May the European elections campaign (finally) begins, and then the country goes on the whistle-blowing cruise, so there is no longer any rush to start a principled debate!

With that, François Bausch would have been good to apologize for his faux-pas. Even if they do not hold it for anything, the government owes a minimum amount of accountability, not just to the press and parliament, but to all citizens, writes Christophe Bumb, who believes that the arrogance of power also has arrived at the blue-red-green government, an arrogance that, in particular, has regularly prevented the green from the CSV – and sometimes to the right.

Politically, the minister is blamed. On every good occasion he receives his affair from the opposition. In that sense, I am not right to the journalist Bumb, that it was a “short-time affair”: the minister probably survived the grave … and the affair, however, will not let go! There were also some letters he could be writing for him in the SREL process in November, adding that he announced that he did not want to become minister after the next 5 years…
